Product Introduction:
Oil Red O is a lipophilic azo dye that is a strong lipid solvent and dye, capable of specifically staining neutral triglycerides, lipids, and lipoproteins in tissues and cells. When tissue slices are inserted into the dye solution, the dye leaves the dye solution and dissolves in lipids (such as lipid droplets) within the tissue, causing the lipid droplets inside the tissue to turn red. Used to analyze the lipid status in cell samples.
The Modified Oil Red O Stain Kit is mainly used to display fat degeneration and abnormal deposition of lipid like substances in tissues and organs, which often occur in fatty degeneration of parenchymal organs such as liver, kidney, and heart, and most neutral fat droplets appear in cells; Identify and diagnose tumors and their properties that occur in adipose tissue. The specimen does not use a fixative containing ethanol (10% formalin can be used for fixation if necessary), nor does it use paraffin sections. Instead, frozen sections or carbon wax sections are required. The positive staining result of fat is orange yellow to red, and the specific color depends on the lipid concentration. P>

Administrator1. 油红O一般与中性脂肪(也叫储存脂肪,主要是甘油三酯)有较强的结合能力,而与结构性脂肪(磷脂,糖脂及胆固醇)结合能力差。常规染色只显示胞内的中性脂肪。
2. 大量游离脂肪酸被细胞吞噬后经消化代谢,储存在胞内形成脂质沉积,呈现小液滴状分布在核周。而这些小液滴状的脂质含有大量甘油三酯,可与油红O亲和,所以显示橘红色。
