Product Introduction:
Formalin pigment is a brown or brownish-black deposit produced during the fixation of tissues with acidic formalin, and is most often found in blood-rich tissues, areas of hemorrhagic injury, and blood-filled macrovessels, and tends to appear as a microcrystalline deposit that is nonmonorefractive.
Traditional methods of removing formalin pigment from sections include picric acid and sodium hydroxide, but these methods may affect the subsequent staining process. Solarbio formalin pigment remover is less damaging to the tissue than the above methods and has less pigmentation. When blood-rich organs are fixed for a long period of time, formalin pigmentation will be greatly increased and it is recommended to change the fixative.
