Determination of Significance:
Iron is a very important plant nutrient element, and the iron content in the soil directly affects the absorption, utilization, growth and metabolism of plants.
Measurement Principle:
In the pH range of 2-9, hydroxylamine hydrochloride converts ferric iron to ferric iron, which reacts with phen Rowling to form an orange-red complex with a characteristic absorption peak at 510 nm. By detecting the change in absorbance at 510 nm, the total iron content of the soil can be calculated.
Self Provided:
Visible spectrophotometer/microplate reader, balance, muffle furnace, crucible, crucible forceps, benchtop centrifuge, water bath, microglass cuvette/96-well plate, adjustable pipette, 100 mesh sieve, and distilled water.
