Description: Inositol is a water-soluble vitamin, a member of the B vitamin family, and a component of lipid phosphate membranes, a glycosyl-phosphatidyl-inositol anchor (glycosyl-Phosphatidyl-inositol anchor) component of cell membranes that binds to cell membrane glycoproteins, the second messenger of phosphoinositol.
Properties: white crystalline powder.
Solubility in water: 14g/100ml at 25℃, 28g/100ml at 60℃. Insoluble in ether, slightly soluble in alcohol. Odorless, sweet and neutral to litmus in aqueous solution
