Abscisic Acid (ABA), also known as Abscisin II or dormin, is a naturally occurring plant hormone and growth regulator involved in a variety of physiological responses in the body, including stimulating stomatal closure (water stress accelerates ABA synthesis); Inhibit seedling growth; Induce seed synthesis of storage protein; Inhibiting the function of gibberellin inducing α-amylase de novo synthesis; It affected the occurrence and maintenance of seed dormancy. Induces the occurrence of transcription of genes associated with wound healing, especially the expression of protease inhibitors, which explains their important role in pathogen defense. In general, abscisic acid is a regulator that controls the plant's adaptive response to various external stimuli.
This product is purified D-abscisic Acid ((+)-Abscisic Acid, or S-Abscisic Acid), a naturally occurring and active isomer.
Abscisic acid fact: Abscisic acid comes in both cis and trans configurations, as well as right-handed (+) and left-handed (-) optical rotators. Naturally occurring abscisic acid is right-handed. Chemically synthesized abscisic acid is a mixture of left - and right-handed (±). Both isomers are biologically active, but studies have found that left-handedness does not promote stomatal closure. In addition, at lower concentrations (1-10μM), the activity of (+) -abscisic acid was significantly higher than that of (-) -abscisic acid.
