Product introduction:
2,3,5-Triphenyltetrazolium chloride, also known as tetrazolium red, or TTC, TTZ, or TPTZ, is a fat-soluble light-sensitive complex that can be used to detect seed viability as well as ischemic infarcts in mammalian tissues. The mechanism of detection lies in the fact that TTC itself acts as a redox indicator, and that dehydrogenases in living cells (especially succinate dehydrogenase in mitochondria) can reduce TTC to the red methylformazan compound TPF (1,3,5-triphenylformazan).
Product Usage:
For seeds or plant tissues, the result is that living tissues are stained to varying degrees of red, while dead or lifeless tissues are not stained. For ischemic infarcted tissues, the loss of necrotic dehydrogenase activity results in a pale white color, while normal tissues show a deep red color.TTC is commonly used at a concentration of 2% (w/v) (Product No. G3005), which can be adjusted according to the type of tissue.
