Product introduction:
JC-10 is a ideal fluorescent probe that is widely used for detecting mitochondrial membrane potential △Ψm. It can detect the membrane potential of cells, tissues, or purified mitochondria. When the mitochondrial membrane potential is high, JC-10 aggregates in the mitochondrial matrix, forming a polymer that can produce red fluorescence; When the mitochondrial membrane potential is low, JC-10 cannot aggregate in the mitochondrial matrix. At this time, JC-10 is a monomer that can produce green fluorescence. This makes it very convenient to detect changes in mitochondrial membrane potential through changes in fluorescence color. The relative ratio of red green fluorescence is commonly used to measure the depolarization of mitochondria.
The decrease in mitochondrial membrane potential is a landmark event in the early stages of cell apoptosis. The decrease in cell membrane potential can be easily detected through the transition of JC-10 from red fluorescence to green fluorescence, and the transition of JC-10 from red fluorescence to green fluorescence can also be used as a detection indicator for early cell apoptosis. The maximum excitation wavelength of JC-10 monomer is 515nm, and the maximum emission wavelength is 529nm; The maximum excitation wavelength of JC-10 polymer is 585nm, and the maximum emission wavelength is 590nm. During actual observation, conventional settings for observing red and green fluorescence are sufficient.
