6-OG488 azide has the same chemical structure as Oregon Green 488 azide. The introduction of Oregon Green’s fluorophores into biomolecules containing alkyne groups is a convenient tool. It reacts with terminal alkynes through a copper-catalyzed click reaction. In particular，6-OG488 azide can be used as a bioorthogonal or biounique hapten for biological applications that require signal amplification. Oregon Green is a bright and photostable alternative to fluorescein that can be used for flow cytometry，fluorescence microscopy，and high-content analysis of cells.
