Cy7 dye has been used to label biomolecules for fluorescence imaging and other fluorescence-based biochemical assays. They are widely used to label peptides，proteins，and oligonucleotides，among others. Cy7 dye conjugates are one of the near-infrared red fluorophores commonly used in in vivo imaging applications. Cy7NHS ester reacts easily with amino groups.
