Serum (plasma) albumin is a highly water-soluble globular protein, which accounts for 50-60% of total blood protein and has a molecular weight of approximately 66kda. Its main function is to maintain the body’s nutrition and osmotic pressure. The large amount of albumin in serum (plasma) often interferes with the detection of other target proteins, especially for low abundance proteins. Therefore,it is very important to remove a large amount of albumin from serum (plasma) in specific situations.
Using this kit to treat serum (plasma) samples can effectively remove albumin in the samples, improve the sensitivity of low abundance protein detection, and this kit is a precipitation method, the operation is more simple,do not need complex instruments. This kit is suitable for removing albumin from serum (plasma) of various genera and can remove more than 95% of albumin after treatment. The resulting samples can be used for Western blot, immunoprecipitation and Elisa analysis.
