Product Introduction
Aldolase is present in all animal and plant tissues, as well as in most microorganisms. Class I aldehydases are found in animal and higher plant tissues and are characterized by the absence of bivalent metal cofactors and form ketamine Schiff base intermediates with the substrate dihydroxyacetone phosphate. Class II aldolases exist only in prokaryotes and lower eukaryotes and require bivalent metal cofactors. There are three types of Class I aldolases: Type A (the main form) is found in muscles; Liver and kidney type B; And type C in the brain (plus some Type A).
