Properties: dark red crystalline powder. Odorless, tasteless, sensitive to light. It is hygroscopic and can absorb 12% moisture in the air. Its aqueous crystals are stable in air. The color becomes darker at 210 ~ 220℃, and does not melt at 300℃. Its aqueous solution is neutral and the most stable at pH4.5 ~ 5. 1g is soluble in about 80ml of water, soluble in ethanol, and insoluble in acetone, chloroform, and ether. Specific rotation -59°±9° (in dilute aqueous solution). Maximum absorption wavelengths (water) 278, 361, 550nm (A1%1cm115, 204, 64). Minimum lethal dose (rat, abdominal) 1364mg/kg
